Grocery Shopping, PMS, and You

This is what I went to the grocery store for.

This is what I came home with. Not pictured: Two kinds of sugar (cubes and demerara). We also have cheese in a jar, cheese in a bag, cheese in wedges, a jar of chocolate, the aforementioned apple butter, and Rachel Ray.

Seamus DARES you to judge me.

I drank a glass of wine and made a balsamic reduction. Why? BECAUSE I CAN. And also, because nothing says, "My dearest darling, soulmate whose deepest secrets I keep, it would be in your best interest to stay out of the kitchen for awhile" quite like a pot of boiling vinegar.

Anyhow, dinner was grilled chicken with roasted red peppers and balsamic reduction over rigatoni with a touch of alfredo sauce. (Except for Little Lord Fauntleroy, who had to have angel hair pasta because he says he doesn't like rigatoni.) It was delicious. I tried to take a picture but failed to use the 'Food' setting on my camera, which it really has, and ended up with a distressingly glistening yet still out of focus plate of food that had all the charm of a co-ed night out uploaded to Facebook directly from the club-- a little sweaty and unsavory-looking. So you'll have to take it from me that it was pretty and tasted good.

Himself just yelled through the office door to ask what 'Emo' is. How the hell should I know? I'm having a second glass of wine.

How can he not like rigatoni? I mean pasta is pasta - it comes in different shapes but they all TASTE the same unless it's gnocchi or something?

I like the Little Lord Fauntleroy nickname and I will think of Bryan that way from here on out! ;-)

Uh...Bryan? May want to think about bunking at a friend's house for a few days. Or carry a piece of chocolate on a long stick in front of you when you enter occupied rooms.

I'm just sayin'.

Solidarity, brother.

:D

Mmmm. Sounds delicious. By the way, that "Food" setting does NOT work.

Seamus! I love you!

Tricia: That's what I said. But he was insistent so I boiled him a seperate pot.

Ted: No worries; the storm is past.

JD- They tease me with this crisp digital picture of sushi on the selection menu. But I guess there's no overcoming poor lighting, the fact that I don't have the skills to photograph what I cook, and the fact that I'd already HAD a glass of wine.

Also: Seamus would love you, too. Just ask Kathy and Jen, who he adopted as his personal 'petting harem' while they visited. He's happiest while being adored by blogging luminaries.

Come. . .make me some of that! Yummmy! Maybe on your way back from an ambulance run?

Seamus. . . who doth not like me for my mini-human that chases him. How I wish to win that kitty over. *sigh*

Seamus! Bad boy! Get off the table! Oh, I can't be mad at you. I love you and I want to visit you again. You made such a nice neck warmer.

I did not know what Emo was. Is that bad?

Kathy: I'm afraid he has very bad manners when we don't have company. The other night I was sitting on the couch eating a cookie and he jumped up on the other end, walked right across my lap, and took a bite out of it, then stood there on my lap looking me right in the eye as he chewed. A chocolate cookie with peanut butter chips. What the heck?

You would never deny him, and neither would I.

As Tricia stated, pasta is pasta unless its angel hair pasta. That is the weak wussy pasta that doesn't get the job done. Blogs can make yo hungry.
